Welcome to our community! By participating in this group, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. These rules are in place to ensure this group remains a safe, productive, and respectful space for open discussion and action.
Purpose of the Group
This group was established on November 17, 2024, to serve as a platform for those who believe that “enough is enough” and want to make a positive difference to our Island. We aim to:
- Provide a Safe Space: Encourage open and constructive discussion where concerns can be raised without fear of dismissal or retaliation.
- Develop Proposals: Formulate sensible, actionable solutions to present to our elected representatives.
- Ensure Accountability: Hold representatives accountable to prioritise the community’s interests over personal agendas.
- Promote Transparency: Demand openness and fairness from representatives and the civil service to ensure decisions are made in the public’s best interest.
Community Rules
To maintain a constructive and respectful environment:
- Respect All Voices: Allow space for quieter voices to be heard. No one voice should dominate the conversation.
- Think Before Posting: Ensure posts are respectful, relevant, and contribute to the goals of the group.
- Don’t make baseless or unproven accusations. Always imagine you are the person you wanted to name – what if you were innocent? Direct message us. Don’t ‘name and shame’ until the courts have.
- Avoid Personal Attacks: Disparaging remarks, bullying, or harassment will not be tolerated.
- No Trolling or Insincere behaviour: we will simply remove you.
- Stay Focused: Keep discussions centred on improving our Island through transparency and accountability.
- Support Whistleblowers: Encourage and protect those who bravely speak up for the public good.
Accountability and Transparency
This group stands as a collective force to demand transparency and accountability from:
- Elected Representatives: Ensuring they act in the best interests of the community.
- Civil Service: Holding public institutions to the highest standards of honesty and openness.
We aim to shine a light on unethical or devious practices. This is a community united in holding power to account, ensuring there is “nowhere to hide“
Moderation and Enforcement
The group is lightly moderated to ensure compliance with these terms. Breaches of these guidelines may result in:
- A warning for minor infractions.
- Removal from the group for repeated or serious violations.
- Use of the stocks, gibbet or guillotine for the most extreme offenders.
The moderators’ decisions are final and are made to preserve the integrity and purpose of this group.
Disclaimer
This group is independent and non-partisan. Views expressed by members do not necessarily reflect those of the group as a whole. Participation in the group is voluntary, and members are encouraged to use the platform responsibly and respectfully.
By joining this group, you implicitly acknowledge and agree to these terms. Together, we can make a difference through constructive action and accountability. It’s a joint effort and we have to act together, and not use this site and Facebook page to simply further our own private agendas.
Posting
As of writing, this website won’t allow posting, but we’ll copy and link articles published here onto the Facebook page – and people can comment there. This is primarily to keep things manageable.
Facebook posts must relate directly to Guernsey. Off-topic content, including off-Island political matters and unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, is prohibited. Spam or repetitive posting will result in removal, blocking of the poster and/or removal of the poster from the group.
Practical Use – disclaimer
We can try to explain laws, rules, principles, and their general applications so as to try to help people form an objective view, but what we say cannot substitute professional legal or other advice. What we (or people in our group) say is just an opinion. All these things are complex and vary based on specific circumstances. In short: don’t rely on us!
